Michel Mollard is a highly successful French film director and screenwriter. He has directed and co-written several critically acclaimed films, including the award-winning French drama "The Barbarian Invasions" (2003).

Mollard was born in Paris in 1952. He studied at the University of Paris, earning a degree in philosophy in 1977. After graduating, he spent several years working as a freelance journalist and critic, contributing to various French publications.

In 1984, Mollard made his directorial debut with the comedy-drama "The King of Paris". The film was a box office success, and earned Mollard several awards, including the César Award for Best Director.

In the 1990s, Mollard directed several critically acclaimed films, including "The Dancer" (1992), "The Dreamers" (1993), and "The Barbarian Invasions" (2003). The latter was a major success, winning nine César Awards and an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
