BIO

Michael Lucid is an award-winning writer, director, and producer whose work has been featured in some of the most prestigious film festivals around the world. He was born in Los Angeles, California and began his filmmaking career as a student filmmaker at the University of Southern California.

Lucid has written, directed, and produced several feature films, most notably The Hours Before (2005) and The Last Days of Summer (2009). He has also written, directed, and produced several shorts, including The Gnome (2008) and The Cat’s Out (2011).

In addition to his filmmaking career, Lucid has also served as a producer on the television series, Six Feet Under (2003), and as a script supervisor on the television series, Big Love (2007). He also worked as an editor on the film, The Social Network (2010).

Lucid has been the recipient of numerous awards, and his films have been screened at some of the most prestigious film festivals around the world, including the Tribeca Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Raindance Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Film Festival. In 2005, his feature film, The Hours Before, was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Picture.

Lucid is currently working on a new feature film, The Suburbanite, which is set to be released in 2021. He is also developing a television series, The Blackbird, which is in pre-production.
