Michael Brown is an award-winning filmmaker, director, and producer. He was born in London and graduated from the London Film School in 1989.
Michael started his career in the media industry by producing short films and documentaries. His first feature film, “A Step in the Dark”, was released in 1995 and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. He went on to direct the critically acclaimed “The Krays” in 1996. The film was nominated for a BAFTA and won a number of other awards.
In 2002, Michael wrote and directed the feature “Souls of the Poor”. This film was a worldwide success and won numerous awards, including the Critics' Choice Award at the Venice Film Festival.
Michael has since gone on to direct a number of successful films, including “The Darkest Hour”, “The White Dragon”, and “The Eye of the Storm”. He has also written and directed a number of television shows, including the BBC's drama series “Flesh and Blood”.
Michael has been recognized for his work with an Emmy Award, two Bafta nominations, and a multitude of other awards. He is also a member of the Directors Guild of America and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
Michael continues to make films that explore important social issues and themes. He is currently working on a new feature film that is set to be released in 2021.
