Michael Bott is a critically acclaimed film and television director, producer, and writer best known for his work on the Starz television series “Outlander” and the feature films “Trouble with the Curve” and “Live Free or Die Hard”.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, Bott grew up in a family of filmmakers, studying film at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen in Munich. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to further his career in film and television.

In 1997, Bott directed his first feature film, “Trouble with the Curve,” which starred Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning Bott an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Motion Picture.

In 2006, Bott directed “Live Free or Die Hard”, the fourth installment of the “Die Hard” franchise, starring Bruce Willis, Justin Long, and Timothy Olyphant. The film was a huge success, grossing over $383 million worldwide.
