Metod Pevec is one of the most well-known Slovenian film directors. He is best known for his award-winning films, such as his 1995 debut film “Idle Running” and his 2003 drama “Beneath Her Window”. He has also directed numerous international films, most notably “The Secret of the Cave”, a 2005 French-Slovenian co-production.

Born in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1960, Metod Pevec was exposed to film from a young age. His father was an avid film enthusiast, and often took Metod to the cinema. This early experience with film inspired Metod to pursue a career in filmmaking, and he began studying the craft at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana.
