Matthias Schmidt is a director, writer, and animator from Germany. He has worked on feature films, television series, and short films.

Schmidt began his career in the early 1990s, working as a director, writer, and animator for a variety of productions. He has worked on feature films such as 'The Great Wall' (1994), 'The Tunnel' (1996), and 'The Shadow of the Vampire' (2001). He also wrote and directed the short films 'A Dog's Life' (1997) and 'The Little Prince' (1999).

In addition, Schmidt has worked on television series such as 'The Adventures of Tintin' (1992-1994), 'The Magic School Bus' (1994-1997), 'The Wild Thornberrys' (1998-2004), and 'The Simpsons' (2009-present). He has also directed episodes of 'Futurama' (1999-2003) and 'American Dad!' (2005-present).

Schmidt has won numerous awards for his work, including the German Films Award (1995), the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival (2001), and the Golden Globe for Best Animated Film (2002).
