Matt Anderson is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer best known for his work in the horror, thriller, and science fiction genres. Anderson was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where he developed an interest in film at an early age. After graduating from high school, Anderson enrolled in the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where he studied film production.
Upon graduating, Anderson began his career as a freelance filmmaker, working on various horror and science fiction films. His first major success came in 2008 with the release of his horror film The Uninvited, which was well received by critics and earned him a nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Horror Film. This was followed by the critically acclaimed sci-fi horror film Pandorum in 2009, which Anderson co-wrote and directed.
Anderson next went on to direct the psychological thriller The Divide in 2011, which won him the Best Director award at the Fantasia Film Festival.
