Massimo D’Anolfi is an Italian director, screenwriter, and cinematographer. He is best known for his critically acclaimed films such as “Stem” and “The Art of Happiness”. He is a frequent collaborator with fellow director Stefano Savona and together they have created several award-winning films.

D’Anolfi was born in Rome in 1961. He studied law and philosophy at La Sapienza University before turning to filmmaking. He started out as a director of photography, working on several documentaries and television series. In 1997, he made his directorial debut with the feature film “Stem”. The film was a critical success and won several awards at international film festivals.

In 2000, D’Anolfi directed and co-wrote “The Art of Happiness”, a coming-of-age drama about a teenage girl who is struggling to find her place in the world. The film was a critical and commercial success and won several awards at international film festivals.

In 2004, D’Anolfi teamed up with Stefano Savona to make their first collaborative feature film, “The Body of a Woman”. The film was a critical success and won several awards at international film festivals.

In 2011, D’Anolfi and Savona released their second collaborative feature film, “The Skin I Live In”. The film was a critical and commercial success and won several awards at international film festivals.

In 2015, D’Anolfi and Savona released their third collaborative feature film, “The Art of Happiness”. The film was a critical and commercial success and won several awards at international film festivals.

In 2017, D’Anolfi and Savona released their fourth collaborative feature film, “The Last Journey”. The film was a critical and commercial success and won several awards at international film festivals.

D’Anolfi has also directed several documentaries and television series. His most recent project is the documentary “Transeuropa”, which was released in 2020.
