Martine Deyres is a French director, screenwriter, and producer. She is best known for her critically acclaimed films, such as “La Vie en Rose” (2002), “Un long Dimanche de Fiançailles” (2004), “L’Effet Aquatique” (2006) and “L’Homme Qui Rêvait d’un Autre Monde” (2009).
Deyres was born in Toulouse, France in 1965. She initially studied art history before moving to Paris to attend the prestigious Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts. There, she developed an interest in film and began working on short films and music videos.
In 1998, Deyres made her feature film debut with the drama “La Vie en Rose,” which was an adaptation of the novel by the same name. The film received widespread critical acclaim and was nominated for several Cesar Awards.
Deyres followed this success with the romantic drama “Un long Dimanche de Fiançailles” in 2004. The film was a huge success, grossing over $50 million worldwide and winning several awards, including the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards.
