Martin Dermot Lavery is an award-winning director and producer based in London, UK. He has been creating film and television projects for over twenty years.

Lavery was born in Northern Ireland in 1972. He grew up in a rural area of the country, which has had a lasting influence on his creative work. He attended the University of Ulster, where he studied English Literature and Film.

After graduating, Lavery began working in the film industry in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He worked as a production assistant, first on feature films and then on television series. He quickly rose through the ranks and was soon working as a producer and director.

In 2003, Lavery moved to London to further his career. He has since worked on a variety of projects, including feature films, television series, music videos, and commercials. Notable projects include the drama series ‘Hit and Miss’, the comedy series ‘Sick Note’, and the feature film ‘A Dark Reflection’.

Lavery has been recognised for his work with a range of accolades, including a BAFTA nomination for ‘Hit and Miss’ and a British Independent Film Award nomination for ‘A Dark Reflection’. He was also selected as one of Screen International’s ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ in 2013.

Lavery’s work has been showcased at a number of international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, and Tribeca. He has won several awards at these festivals, including the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival for his feature film ‘The Unforgiving’.

Lavery continues to create innovative and original projects. He is currently working on a new feature film, as well as a television series. He is also an active member of the film community, regularly attending industry events and speaking at workshops and panels.
