Martin Christ (born July 12, 1965) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work in the horror genre, having directed films such as The Grudge (2004), The Possession (2012), and The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005).

Christ was born in Los Angeles, California. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he studied film and theatre. After graduating in 1988, he started working as a production assistant on various television and film projects.

He moved into directing in the late 1990s, starting with TV movies such as The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999) and Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000). His first feature film was the horror-thriller The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005). The film was a commercial success, grossing over $150 million worldwide.

Christ followed up his success with the horror-thriller The Grudge (2004). The film, which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, was a box office hit, grossing over $180 million worldwide. Christ also directed the supernatural horror-thriller The Possession (2012), which grossed over $80 million worldwide.
