Martín Benchimol is a prominent Argentine film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1972. He studied film at the University of Buenos Aires, where he graduated with a degree in Film Direction in 1998.

Benchimol is recognized for his innovative and groundbreaking work in the film industry. He has directed and produced multiple award-winning films, including “La historia con una historia” (The Story with a Story) in 2002, which won the Goya Award for Best Ibero-American Film. His next film, “La historia sin fin” (The Endless Story) followed in 2004, winning the Goya for Best Film.

Benchimol's most successful film to date is “El Chico de la Calle” (The Boy from the Street), released in 2007. The film was a critical and commercial success, garnering numerous awards, including the Goya Award for Best Film and the Premio Sur for Best Latin American Feature Film.

In 2009, Benchimol released his most ambitious project yet, “El Corazón de la Ciudad” (The Heart of the City). The film, set in Buenos Aires, was a major box office hit, and won the Goya Award for Best Film and the Premio Sur for Best Latin American Feature Film.

Benchimol has also ventured into television production. He directed several episodes of the popular Spanish drama series “La Mujer de mi Hermano” (My Brother's Wife). The show was an immense success, garnering numerous awards and nominations.

Benchimol is renowned for his unique approach to filmmaking, focusing on character development and the exploration of themes such as family relationships, friendship, and love. His films are often poignant and emotionally charged, exploring the complex emotions of its characters.

Apart from filmmaking, Benchimol is an avid sailor and enjoys travelling with his family. He currently resides in Buenos Aires with his wife and two children. He continues to work on a variety of projects, both in film and television.
