BIO

Marcer Andersen is a renowned Danish director, best known for his feature films, documentaries and television series. Born in Aarhus, Denmark in 1965, Marcer Andersen began his directing career shortly after graduating from the Danish Film School in 1989.

He has since gone on to direct several films, including the critically acclaimed ‘The Celebration’ in 1998. This family drama won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

In 2000, Andersen directed the romantic comedy ‘Open Hearts’ which earned him the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. He has also directed several documentaries, including ‘The Monastery’ in 2006 and ‘Crazy World’ in 2011.

Andersen has also ventured into television, directing the hit series ‘The Killing’ in 2007, which won numerous awards including an International Emmy. He also directed the miniseries ‘The Legacy’ in 2014, which won the Best Drama Series award at the International Emmy Awards.
