Maíra Bühler is an award-winning Brazilian director, producer, and screenwriter of films, television, and digital content. She is best known for her work on the feature films “The Edge of the Future” and “The Two Sides of the Street”.

Maíra was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1980. She was raised in a family of filmmakers, and her passion for the craft was inspired by her grandfather, a renowned Brazilian cinematographer. She began her career by studying film at the University of São Paulo, and afterwards attended the prestigious Escola Superior de Cinema e Audiovisual (ESCA), where she graduated with a degree in Audiovisual Production.

In 2005, Maíra left ESCA and began working as an independent producer and director. In 2009, she wrote and directed her first feature film, “The Edge of the Future”, which premiered at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival and was distributed in many countries around the world. The film was a critical success, and won multiple awards at the festival.

In 2011, Maíra wrote and directed her second feature film, “The Two Sides of the Street”, which was also distributed in many countries. The film was a critical success, and it won several awards, including the Best Screenplay Award at the Brasilia Film Festival.

In addition to her work in feature films, Maíra has written and directed several documentaries, such as “Brazilian Cinema: A Journey Through Time”, which was featured at the São Paulo International Film Festival. She has also directed music videos for renowned Brazilian musicians, such as Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil.
