Maike Brochhaus is an award-winning director, producer, and screenwriter from Germany. She has worked in both feature film and television, directing and producing a diverse range of projects.

Maike grew up in Dusseldorf, Germany, where she developed a passion for filmmaking from a young age. She studied film production at the University of Applied Sciences in Dusseldorf, and went on to pursue a career in the industry.

Maike’s first feature film was “Die Frau des Künstlers” (The Artist’s Wife), which won the German Film Academy Award for Best Film in 2003. The film was also nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. Following this success, Maike directed and produced her second feature film, “Sommer” (Summer), in 2006. It was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, as well as the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.

Maike then moved into television, directing and producing the crime series “Schimanski” from 2007-2008, which was nominated for the German Television Award. She has since gone on to direct and produce a number of other television series, including “Die Wache” (The Watch) and “Tatort” (Crime Scene).

In addition to her work in television and feature films, Maike has also directed and produced several short films. Her short film “Der Tag” (The Day) was nominated for the German Film Award for Best Short Film in 2009.

Maike has won numerous awards for her work, including the Film Award of the City of Dusseldorf in 2004, the German Director’s Award in 2006, and the German Television Award in 2009.
