BIO

Magnus Skatvold is a Norwegian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is known for his work on the critically acclaimed Norwegian films Happy Happy (2011) and The Orheim Company (2012).

Skatvold was born in Oslo, Norway in 1981. As a child, he had a passion for film and was exposed to some of the greats like Ingmar Bergman and Akira Kurosawa. He graduated from the National Film and Television School in London in 2005 with a degree in film directing.

Upon graduation, Skatvold began working as a freelance film director and producer. His first feature film, Happy Happy, debuted in 2011 and received critical acclaim. The film follows a young Norwegian couple whose lives become increasingly complicated as they try to make their marriage work. The film was nominated for five Norwegian Film Awards, including Best Film.

In 2012, Skatvold released his second feature film, The Orheim Company. The film tells the story of a family-owned construction company in Bergen, Norway. The film was nominated for five Norwegian Film Awards, including Best Film, and won the Audience Award at the Norwegian International Film Festival.

In addition to his feature films, Skatvold has directed several short films, including the award-winning The Dancer (2015). He has also produced several films, including the award-winning drama Beauty (2017).

Skatvold's work has been recognized both in Norway and abroad. He has received numerous awards, including the Norwegian Film Critics Award for Best Director in 2012 for The Orheim Company and the Norwegian Film Critics Award for Best Screenplay in 2015 for The Dancer.

Skatvold is an avid traveler and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and North America. He currently resides in Oslo, Norway. He is currently working on his third feature film, which is set to debut in 2020.
