Magnus Öhrlund is a Swedish film director, editor, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work in the Swedish film industry, including his feature films “Unga Astrid” (2018) and “Flocken” (2015).

Born in Stockholm in 1975, Magnus grew up in the family of writers and artists. He developed an interest in film and started making short films when he was a teenager. After graduating high school, Magnus studied film at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

Magnus’ career began with the short film “Granola” in 2002, which was screened at several international film festivals. This was followed by his first feature film “Flocken”, which premiered at the Gothenburg Film Festival in 2015. The film was praised for its unique visual style and its exploration of a small town in Sweden.

In 2018, Magnus directed the critically acclaimed biopic “Unga Astrid”, which was the highest grossing Swedish film of the year. The film follows the life of the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, and its success earned Magnus several awards, including Best Director at the Swedish Film Awards.

Magnus has since worked on several projects in the Swedish film industry, including the crime drama “Snabba Cash” in 2019 and the drama “Main Street” in 2020. His most recent project is the upcoming drama “Journey to the End of the World”, which will be released in 2021.

Magnus is known for his distinct visual style, and his films often feature a unique blend of realism and surrealism. His films have been praised for their thought-provoking themes and their exploration of the human condition.

Outside of his film work, Magnus has also directed several music videos for Swedish artists, including “By Your Side” by singer-songwriter Marit Bergman.
