Lukas Agelastos is a Greek-German filmmaker whose work bridges social engagement and cinematic expression. He first pursued studies in Social Studies and Business Management before turning to creative practice through photography and video production. His passion for storytelling led him to study Film at Raindance Film School in London, where he now serves as a postgraduate mentor.
Deeply interested in films that explore social realities and human resilience, Agelastos has built a career focused on stories that highlight empathy and justice. His early short documentary The Unemployed Man Who Cooks for the Homeless (2013) reflected his enduring concern with marginalised communities. Together with Spiridoula Gouskou, he directed the award-winning feature documentary My Human Self (2017), followed by Nowhere To Go (2022), which examines homelessness and social exclusion in Athens.
His fiction short The Line (2019), starring Alexandra Aidini, was screened at numerous European festivals and broadcast on Greek national television (ERT). Through his filmography, Lukas Agelastos continues to investigate the social fabric of contemporary life, using cinema as a means to question inequality and affirm human dignity.
