BIO

Lewis Wilcox is an award winning and Emmy nominated documentary filmmaker and editor whose work explores the intersection of economic justice and the human condition. With a strong journalistic approach, he investigates how systems of power shape individual lives and communities.

His first short film, Running on Fumes in North Dakota, debuted on the front page of The New York Times as part of its Emmy award winning Op Docs series. The project later expanded into the feature documentary The Bakken, which won the Audience Award at its premiere at MSPIFF. His short documentary Before The Bridge premiered at DOK Leipzig, where it won its category, and went on to screen at more than a dozen international festivals, earning three awards.

Wilcox has also produced, directed photography, and edited the Netflix original docu series Westside. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with leading production companies including Anonymous Content, Intellectual Property Corp, IDEO, Swift, All3Media America, and Gurney Productions, and has been part of the Los Angeles art collective Arthur King. Based in Minnesota, he works across directing, producing, cinematography and editing, bringing both a broad professional network and comprehensive expertise in documentary filmmaking.
