BIO

Leo McCafferty is an accomplished Director, Writer, and Producer whose work has been seen on some of the most popular television shows and films of the last decade. Born in the small town of Elgin, Illinois in 1977, McCafferty’s career began in his early twenties when he landed a job as an assistant director on the TV series “The X-Files.” From there, he quickly moved up the ranks, writing and directing episodes of “CSI Miami” and “Law & Order.”

McCafferty made his feature film debut in 2005 with the critically acclaimed “The Woodsman,” which earned him a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. The film was followed by the award-winning “The Final Cut” in 2007 and “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” in 2011. His most recent work includes “Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” (2014), “The Revenant” (2015), “Loving” (2016), and “The Post” (2017).

In addition to his work in film, McCafferty has directed several television series, including “House of Cards” (2013-2014), “Fargo” (2014-2015), and “The Deuce” (2017-2018). He has also been nominated for two Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe Award for his work in television.

When he’s not directing, McCafferty enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors. He is an avid hiker and enjoys camping in the wilderness. He also enjoys reading, playing the guitar, and cooking.
