The success of Kit's Mad Men episode opened the door for her to direct more feature films. In 2011, she directed the psychological thriller, Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Kit was nominated for a BAFTA for Outstanding British Film.

In 2014, Kit wrote and directed The Social Network, a biopic about the life of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. The film earned her a second BAFTA nomination, and won an Oscar for Best Picture.

In recent years, Kit has branched out into directing documentaries and virtual reality experiences. Her latest project is a VR experience about the impact of climate change, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
