Justin Smith is an American film and television director known for his work on popular shows such as the hit comedy series Parks and Recreation. Born in 1976 in Virginia, Smith’s parents were both avid film lovers, which helped to fuel his own passion for movies and television.

Smith attended college at the University of Southern California, where he studied film and television production. He graduated in 1998, and soon after was accepted into the prestigious Peter Stark Producing Program. During his time in the program, Smith directed several short films and began to develop his own distinctive style of visual storytelling.

Since then, Smith has gone on to direct numerous popular television shows, including Parks and Recreation, Ugly Betty, and The Big Bang Theory. He has also directed several feature films, such as The Internship and The Proposal. Smith’s directing style combines comedy with drama, often creating a unique blend of both genres.

He has worked with various charities, including the American Film Institute, the International Rescue Committee, and the Los Angeles Zoo.
