Jörg Junge is a German film director, producer and screenwriter. He is best known for writing and directing the 2016 romantic comedy-drama ‘In Times of Fading Light’.

Junge was born in 1965 in Hamburg, Germany. He studied at the University of Hamburg where he pursued a degree in philosophy and media studies. After his graduation, he moved to Berlin to pursue a career in filmmaking.

In 1997, he wrote and directed his first feature film ‘The Little Thief’. The film earned him several accolades including the Bavarian Film Award for Best Screenplay and the German Film Award for Best Director.

In 2001, he wrote and directed ‘The Princess and the Warrior’, which was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film was also selected for the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2006, Junge wrote and directed ‘The Heart of the Earth’, which was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film also won the German Film Award for Best Screenplay.

Junge’s 2016 romantic comedy-drama ‘In Times of Fading Light’ was selected for the Berlin International Film Festival and earned him several awards and accolades. The film was also nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Junge is currently working on a new project, ‘The Stream’, a feature film about a young woman who embarks on a journey of self-discovery. The film is scheduled for release in 2021.

Junge is known for his distinctive style of filmmaking which blends elements of drama, comedy, and romance into his work. He has become one of the most successful and acclaimed German filmmakers of his generation.
