BIO

John Pirozzi is an American film director, producer, editor, and writer. He has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, having directed and produced films such as the critically acclaimed feature documentary “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey”, as well as the documentaries “The Caribbean: A World Apart” and “The Path To Zero”.

John Pirozzi was born in 1976 in the Bronx, New York. He was raised in an Italian-American family and attended Fordham University, where he earned a degree in film studies and production. After college, he worked as an assistant editor for a music video production company, then as a freelance editor for television commercials.

In 2002, John made his directorial debut with the independent feature “The Asphalt Kiss”, which was accepted into the Sundance Film Festival and played in numerous festivals around the world. Following this success, Pirozzi wrote and directed the feature documentary “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey”, which was released in 2013 and won the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.

In 2014, John directed the documentary “The Caribbean: A World Apart”, which was executive produced by Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro and featured the music of the legendary Bob Marley. The film focused on the culture and people of the Caribbean and was selected to screen at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2015, John directed the feature documentary “The Path To Zero”, which was executive produced by Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep and featured interviews with nuclear disarmament activists. The film was released in theaters and on television in 2016 and was nominated for an Emmy Award.

John continues to write and direct films that are both informative and entertaining. He has been praised for his ability to create films that are accessible yet thought-provoking, and has recently been named as one of the top emerging documentary filmmakers in the United States. John currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
