Johannes Häussler is a German director and writer who has worked in both television and film. He is best known for his work on the TV series “Tatort” which has been running since 1970.

Häussler was born in 1948 in Munich, Germany. He graduated from the University of Munich with a degree in German literature. After completing his studies, he began work as a freelance script writer and director for television.

In 1975, Häussler directed his first film, “Der neue Musterknabe” (The New Model Boy). The film was a success and it won several awards. This success led to Häussler being hired by the German television series “Tatort” to direct several episodes.

Häussler continued to direct a variety of films and television shows over the next few decades. He directed several episodes of “Tatort” including “Der Tod im Hafen” (Death in the Harbor) and “Die Spur des Vergessens” (The Trail of Forgetting). Other notable works include “Der Eisbär” (The Polar Bear), “Das Traumhaus” (The Dream House), and “Der Vierte Mann” (The Fourth Man).

In 2003, Häussler won the German Television Award for Best Director for his work on the television series “Der weiße Hai” (The White Shark). He has also been nominated for several other awards including the Bavarian Film Award and the German Television Award for Best Screenplay.
