BIO

Jeff Pustil is a Canadian-born film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on the films The Last Winter (2006), The Uninvited (2009), and The Witch (2015).

Pustil was born in Toronto, Ontario, in 1986. He developed an interest in filmmaking at an early age and began making short films when he was a teenager. He went on to attend the Ontario College of Art and Design, where he earned a BFA in Film and Video.

In 2006, Pustil wrote and directed his first feature film, The Last Winter. The film was released to critical acclaim, and was nominated for the Genie Award for Best Motion Picture.

In 2009, Pustil wrote and directed the horror-thriller The Uninvited. The film was released to positive reviews, and was a box office success.

In 2015, Pustil wrote and directed the horror film The Witch. The film was a critical and commercial success, and was awarded the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

In addition to his work in feature films, Pustil has directed several music videos and commercials. He has also directed two episodes of the award-winning television series, The Handmaid’s Tale.

Pustil is currently in pre-production for his next feature film, The Burning. The film is set to be released in 2021.

Outside of his professional career, Pustil is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. He has been a vocal supporter of organizations such as To Write Love On Her Arms and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
