BIO

Jazmín López is an Argentinian film director and screenwriter. She was born in 1982 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied at the University of Buenos Aires and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Audiovisual Communication.

López began her career directing short films, such as "Cocinar", "Celeste" and "La Noche". These films received numerous awards and were screened in film festivals around the world, including the Locarno Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival. She also directed the television series "Tiempo de Mujer" for the Argentine television channel Telefe.

In 2012, López wrote and directed her first feature film, "Los Salvajes". The film was a critical success and earned her awards at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival and the Havana Film Festival. It was also selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

In 2015, López co-wrote and directed the feature film "La Prisionera", which was selected for the Panorama section at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film was well received, winning the Audience Award at the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema and the Jury Prize at the Guadalajara International Film Festival.
