Jay Rosenblatt is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and a two-time Academy Award® nominee whose career spans more than thirty-five acclaimed films. His work delves deep into human emotion and psychology, creating stories that feel deeply personal yet resonate universally. Rosenblatt’s documentaries have earned over 100 international awards and have been showcased at major festivals and venues around the world.
A curated selection of his films has enjoyed theatrical runs at New York’s Film Forum and other cinemas across the United States, while a feature-length retrospective of his work screened for a full week at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. His films have been presented nine times at the Sundance Film Festival, eleven times at IDFA, and broadcast on HBO, PBS, and the Sundance Channel.
Rosenblatt’s work has been featured in major publications such as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Filmmaker Magazine. He is a recipient of prestigious fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, USA Artists, and the Rockefeller Foundation.
