Jan Koslowski is a Polish film director and screenwriter who is best known for his work in the genres of drama, comedy, and romance. He has directed films such as "The Art of Loving," "A Woman's Life," "The Lure," "The Red Spider" and "The Axe".

Koslowski was born in Przemysl, Poland in 1948. He studied directing at the National Film School in Lodz, and made his directorial debut with the short film "The Secret Sharer" in 1975. In 1977, he directed his first feature-length film, "Journey to the Sun", which won the Grand Prix at the International Film Festival in Mannheim, Germany.

Koslowski continued to make critically acclaimed films throughout the 1980s and 90s, including "The Art of Loving" (1985), "A Woman's Life" (1988) and "The Lure" (1991). Each of these films received multiple awards and were praised for their sensitive and honest portrayals of human relationships.

In the 2000s, Koslowski began exploring darker themes in his films, such as in "The Red Spider" (2005) and "The Axe" (2008). These films were both met with critical acclaim and established Koslowski as a director of psychological thrillers.
