Jamie Pickup is an award-winning director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on films such as The Human Factor (2015), The Host (2013), and The Amateurs (2011).
Jamie was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He began his career working in the production department at the CBC. He later studied film at the Canadian Film Centre and then went on to receive his MFA in Film Directing from the University of Southern California.
In 2011, Jamie made his directorial debut with The Amateurs, a feature-length comedy starring Jeff Bridges, Ted Danson, and Lauren Graham. The film received critical acclaim and was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival.
In 2013, Jamie directed The Host, a sci-fi thriller based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. The film starred Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, and Jake Abel and was released in theaters worldwide.
Jamie's most recent project was the drama The Human Factor, which released in 2015. The film stars Meryl Streep and David Oyelowo and follows the story of a Nobel Peace Prize nominee. The film earned him numerous awards, including the Best Director award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Jamie is currently in pre-production on his next project, a feature-length drama set in the US. In addition, he has several television projects in development, including a limited series for the BBC.
