BIO

James Muller is an award-winning director, producer and editor based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his work on the critically acclaimed feature films, “The Wrestler” and “Black Swan”.

Muller was born in 1983 in Houston, Texas and raised in the suburbs of New York City. He began his career in the film industry as an editor, working on projects such as the feature film “Rampage” and the television series “The Shield”. After a few years of editing, he decided to pursue directing full-time and enrolled in the American Film Institute’s directing program in Los Angeles.

In 2008, he wrote and directed his first feature film, “The Wrestler”, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning three Academy Award nominations and grossing over $44 million at the box office.

In 2010, Muller directed the psychological thriller “Black Swan”, starring Natalie Portman and Vincent Cassel. The film went on to win four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Portman and Best Director for Muller.

Muller has since gone on to direct a variety of successful projects, including “The Great Gatsby”, “The Hunger Games”, “The Fault in Our Stars”, and “The Meg”. He is currently in pre-production for his next feature film, “The Nightingale”.
