Jakeb Anhvu is an award-winning director and producer from Los Angeles, CA. He is best known for his critically acclaimed films, including the Academy Award-nominated drama A Star is Born, the Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winning film Precious, and the multi-award-winning documentary Bully.

Anhvu began his career as an assistant director in the early 2000s, working on a variety of projects such as the television series Charmed and the film Legally Blonde. He then gained experience in producing and directing music videos, before moving on to features. His first feature, the romantic comedy Just Like Heaven, was released in 2005.

Anhvu's breakthrough as a feature director came with his 2009 drama Precious, which earned him a Sundance Grand Jury Prize and two Academy Award nominations. His follow-up film, A Star is Born, was released in 2018 and was nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
