Ibrahim Y. Shebani is a renowned filmmaker and director from Sudan. He is best known for his work in films such as “The Long Road Home” and “The Wretched”. He is an award-winning director and has been recognized for his achievements in film and television by many international film festivals.

Shebani was born in Sudan in 1985 and grew up in a small rural village. He was exposed to art and film at an early age and developed a passion for both. He attended the University of Khartoum to study film and media, and later moved to the United States to pursue a degree in film production from the New York Film Academy.

Shebani has directed numerous short films, documentaries, and feature films. His first feature film was titled “The Long Road Home” and was released in 2011. It was a critically acclaimed film which won the Best Feature Film award at the International African Film Festival in Tanzania. His next feature film, “The Wretched”, was released in 2014 and won the Best Film award at the International Film Festival in Sudan.

Shebani has also directed several television series, such as “The Mideast Diaries”, “The Great Escape”, and “The Long Road Home”. He has also directed multiple commercials and music videos.

Shebani has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2016. He is also a member of the Directors Guild of America and the International Documentary Association.

Shebani has received numerous awards and accolades for his work, including the John Cassavetes Award from the Independent Spirit Awards, and the Grand Jury Prize at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
