Hollie Fifer is an Australian director and producer who is best known for her award-winning documentary film ‘One More Mile’.

Hollie was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. She began her career in the television industry as a researcher and production manager. She worked on critically acclaimed films such as ‘The Tracker’ and ‘Rabbit Proof Fence’.

In 2005, Hollie decided to direct her own feature-length documentary film, ‘One More Mile’. The film follows a group of teenage boys in rural Australia who are part of a unique running program. The film was awarded the ‘Award of Excellence’ at the 2006 Melbourne International Film Festival.

Hollie went on to direct two more feature-length documentaries, ‘The Great Ghost Rescue’ (2007) and ‘The Tall Man’ (2010). ‘The Great Ghost Rescue’ follows a group of children who are trying to save a haunted house from destruction. It won numerous awards, including Best Documentary at the 2008 Sydney Film Festival. ‘The Tall Man’ documents the true story of Northern Territory police officer Cameron Doomadgee, who was killed in police custody in 2004.

Hollie has also directed several short films, including ‘The Dreamers’ (2013), ‘The Visitors’ (2014) and ‘The Silent’ (2015). She has also directed several TV documentaries, including ‘The Last Voyage of The Krait’ (2016) and ‘The Thin Blue Line’ (2017).

Hollie’s work has been recognised with numerous awards, including an Australian Directors Guild Award for Best Documentary Feature (‘One More Mile’), an International Documentary Association Award for Best Feature (‘The Great Ghost Rescue’) and an AACTA Award for Best Feature Length Documentary (‘The Tall Man’).

Hollie is passionate about telling stories that challenge the status quo and uncover hidden truths. Her films have been praised for their thought-provoking and engaging storytelling. Hollie is currently working on her next project, a feature-length documentary about the life of Australian aviator, Bert Hinkler.
