Haji Anif (1948-2015) was an Indian actor best known for his work in Indian cinema. He was born in 1948 in a small village near Pondicherry, India. His father was a farmer and his mother was a homemaker. He was the youngest of five children.
Anif began acting in local theatre and stage productions at an early age and soon rose to fame as an actor in South Indian cinema. He made his movie debut in 1974, in the Tamil movie, 'Thirunagai'. His performance in the movie earned him critical acclaim and he went on to star in numerous Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.
Anif was known for his versatile roles. He was able to perform both comedic and tragic roles with ease. Some of his most memorable roles include 'Pasamalar' (1971), 'Vetri' (1976), 'Kizhakke Pogum Rail' (1978), 'Udhaya Geetham' (1985) and 'Chinna Thambi' (1991). His performances in these films won him several awards, including a National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in 'Kizhakke Pogum Rail'.
Anif was also a noted producer, having produced several Tamil films. He was also involved in philanthropic activities and was known for his charitable donations to various causes.
Anif passed away in 2015 at the age of 67, due to a heart attack. He left behind a legacy of memorable performances and is remembered fondly by his fans. His timeless performances continue to inspire and entertain viewers today.
