Günther Aschenbrenner (born March 16, 1942) is an Austrian actor and voice actor. He is best known for his roles in films such as The Great Escape (1963), The Sound of Music (1965), and The Deer Hunter (1978).

Aschenbrenner was born in Vienna, Austria. He began his career as a student at the Vienna State Opera, where he studied acting and singing. After a few years with the Vienna State Opera, he moved on to a professional career in acting. He made his film debut in the 1963 classic The Great Escape, playing the role of Corporal Franz Schimel. He also appeared in the 1965 musical The Sound of Music, playing Karl, a member of the Von Trapp family.

In the late 1960s, Aschenbrenner transitioned to voice acting, providing the German-language dubs for a number of Hollywood films, including The Godfather (1972), Airport (1970), Taxi Driver (1976), and The Deer Hunter (1978). He also voiced characters in the German-language versions of animated films such as The Rescuers (1977) and The Little Mermaid (1989).

In addition to his work in film, Aschenbrenner has also done extensive work in television. He has appeared in a number of German-language television series and films, as well as providing voice-over work for various television programs.

Throughout his career, Aschenbrenner has earned several awards and honors. In 1984, he was awarded the Silver Medal of Merit by the city of Vienna, and in 2004 he was honored with the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, First Class.

Today, Aschenbrenner continues to act and provide voice-over work. He is currently working on a number of projects, including the German-language dub of the movie Justice League (2017). He is also set to appear as a guest star in a new Austrian television series called Der Macher (The Maker).
