Günter Schwaiger is an Austrian film director, producer, and screenwriter best known for his work on the films “The Inheritance” (2009), “The Wall” (2013), and “A Haunting in Salem” (2015).
Schwaiger was born in Vienna, Austria in 1957. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he studied directing and film production. After graduating, he began his career as an assistant director on various feature films and television series. He then moved on to directing his own projects, and his first feature film was “The Inheritance”, which he wrote, directed, and produced.
The film was a success, and won several awards at international film festivals, including the Silver Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival.
