Gundi Heinemann (born December 24, 1940) is a German actress most well known for her roles in television and film. She began her career in the 1960s in television and film and quickly became a popular actress in Germany.

Heinemann was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. She attended the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and graduated with a degree in acting. From there she began her career on the stage and in television. Her breakthrough role came in 1966 when she was cast in a German TV series, “The Little Mother.” This led to more television roles and a few feature film roles.

In the 1970s, Heinemann established herself as a leading actress in German films. She starred in the critically acclaimed drama, “The Marriage of Maria Braun” in 1979. Her performance earned her a nomination for the German Film Award for Best Actress. She also starred in the popular comedy, “The Sensuous Nurse” in 1975 and the drama, “The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser” in 1974.

Throughout the 1980s, Heinemann continued to appear in German films and television series. She also had a few international roles, including a supporting role in the 1986 drama, “The Name of the Rose.” In the 1990s, she appeared in a number of made-for-TV movies and miniseries.
