Graham Coxon is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work as the lead guitarist and principal songwriter in the band Blur. Born on 12 March 1969 in Rinteln, Germany, Coxon grew up in Colchester, Essex and attended Colchester Institute in order to study Fine Art.

At age 15, Coxon formed the band Circus with his friend Dave, and within a year they had released their first single. This led to a record deal with Food Records and the release of their first album, 'The Snowman'. After the dissolution of Circus, Coxon and Dave went on to form Blur in 1990, initially as a guitar-based indie rock group.

Throughout the early 90s, Blur released a series of critically acclaimed albums, singles and EPs, and their success escalated with the release of 'Parklife' in 1994, which propelled them into the limelight. Coxon's involvement with Blur continued until 2002, when he decided to pursue a solo career.

Since then, Coxon has released nine solo albums, the first of which was 'The Sky Is Too High' released in 1998. His style of music ranged from indie rock to lo-fi, and his latest album, 'A+E', was released in 2012. He has also collaborated with various artists, including Damon Albarn, Bill Ryder-Jones and Yoko Ono.

In addition to his solo work, Coxon has been involved in a number of other projects, including the bands The Cribs and The Magic Numbers, and his own record label, Transcopic. He has also produced a number of films, including 'The Great Hip Hop Hoax' and 'The Stone Roses: Made of Stone'.

Throughout his career, Coxon has received numerous accolades, including being voted Best Solo Artist at the 2005 Q Awards and Best Guitarist at the 2006 NME Awards. He has also been inducted into the NME Hall of Fame, and has been awarded the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music.
