Gordon Smith was born in Lawrence, Kansas on May 6th, 1952. He was raised in a middle-class family and attended Lawrence High School. After graduating, he attended the University of Kansas, where he studied theater and film.

After college, Smith moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He quickly found small roles in television shows and in a few films. His first major role was in the 1988 television movie “The Burning Bed.”

In the 1990s, Smith began to get more prominent roles in both television and film. He appeared in “L.A. Law,” “ER,” and “Tales from the Crypt.” He also starred in the 1993 movie “The Firm,” alongside Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman.

In the 2000s, Smith continued to appear in a variety of projects in both television and film. He starred in the 2001 movie “The Majestic,” alongside Jim Carrey. He also was featured in the television show “Alias.”
