Gjorgi Todorovski is a Macedonian actor and director who has had a successful career in the film industry for nearly four decades. He was born in the Republic of Macedonia on September 5, 1956, and raised in the city of Skopje.

Todorovski started his acting career in 1979 with his first major role in the film, “The Red Line”. Since then, he has appeared in numerous films, television series, and stage plays. He has worked with some of the most notable directors in the industry, such as Milcho Manchevski, Stole Popov, and Goran Paskaljevic.

In the mid-90s, Todorovski made the transition from mainly acting to directing. He made his directorial debut in 1995 with the feature film “Before the Rain”, which was an international success and won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. This film put Todorovski on the map as a director and established him as one of the most respected filmmakers in the Macedonian film industry.

Throughout his career, Todorovski has earned numerous awards and accolades for his work, including the Golden Arena for Best Director at the Pula Film Festival, the Crystal Globe Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and the Best Director Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival.

In the last few years, Todorovski has continued to act and direct, as well as teach acting. He currently teaches acting at the National Academy of Film Arts in Skopje. He is also the president of the Macedonian Film Professionals Association.

Todorovski has been instrumental in the development of the Macedonian film industry, and is considered one of the country’s most important filmmakers. He is an artist who has dedicated his life to the art of filmmaking and continues to be a major influence in the Macedonian film industry.
