Fredrik Ljungberg is a Swedish actor and model best known for his roles in the Swedish movie version of the TV series, Wallander, and in the Swedish crime drama, Beck. Born on 8 February 1971 in Värnamo, Sweden, Ljungberg grew up in a family of six with two older sisters and a younger brother. He attended high school in Värnamo and went on to study at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Stockholm.

Ljungberg first rose to fame in the early 2000s when he starred in the Swedish version of the popular TV series, Wallander. His performance was praised by both critics and audiences alike and he quickly became a household name in Sweden. He went on to star in the Swedish crime drama, Beck, as Inspector Gunvald Larsson. The series was a major success and was quickly adapted into a movie trilogy.
