Frank Zane (born June 28th 1942) is an American actor and bodybuilding champion who is best known for his iconic physique and his roles in classic films such as “Conan the Barbarian” and “The Gambler”.

Born in Kingston, Pennsylvania, Zane was exposed to bodybuilding at an early age through his father, who was an amateur bodybuilder. As a teen, Zane was inspired by the great bodybuilder Steve Reeves and the stars of the silver screen, including Charles Atlas. After high school, he entered the US Navy and served three years as a Radioman.

Zane started competing in bodybuilding competitions in the 1960s and soon became a fan favorite. He won the Mr. America title three times (1968, 1969 and 1971), and the Mr. Universe title twice (1967 and 1971). He also won a slew of other titles, including the Mr. Olympia three times (1977, 1978 and 1979).

In addition to his bodybuilding success, Zane has also starred in a number of films. His first major role was in the 1982 movie “Conan the Barbarian”, where he played the villainous Thulsa Doom. He also had a role in “The Gambler”, and he has appeared in a number of other films and television shows over the years.

Zane has also written a number of fitness books and has been featured on the covers of several fitness magazines. He has also opened a number of gyms and produced a number of fitness videos. He is also an outspoken advocate for vegetarianism and has written several books on the subject.
