Floor Jansen (born 21 February 1981) is a Dutch singer and songwriter. She is best known as the lead vocalist of the symphonic metal band Nightwish since 2012. She has also been a member of other bands, such as ReVamp and After Forever.

Born in Goirle, Netherlands, Jansen started her musical career in 1997 as the founding member of the symphonic metal band After Forever. As their lead vocalist, she released five studio albums with the band and toured extensively. She took a break from music in 2009 in order to focus on her studies, but in the same year, she also joined the Dutch metal band ReVamp as their lead singer.

In 2012, Jansen was asked to join Nightwish as their vocalist after the previous vocalist, Anette Olzon, left the band abruptly. Jansen accepted the offer and made her debut performance with the band at the famous Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany. Since then, she has been the lead vocalist of the band, performing live concerts and releasing two studio albums with the group.

Aside from her work with Nightwish and other bands, Jansen has also collaborated with several other artists. She has sung backup vocals for artists such as Ayreon, Epica, Xandria, and Rhapsody of Fire. She also worked as a guest vocalist on the album “Epica vs. Attack on Titan Songs” by Epica.

Jansen is an animal rights activist and an advocate for gender equality. She has spoken out against animal cruelty and in support of female empowerment and gender equality in the metal music scene.

Floor Jansen is considered one of the most successful and influential female vocalists in the metal music scene. Her powerful and versatile vocals have earned her critical acclaim, and she continues to be a major force in the music world.
