BIO

Felicia Pearson, best known for her role as ‘Snoop’ in the acclaimed HBO TV series The Wire, is an American actress, author and rapper. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 18, 1980, Pearson had a tumultuous childhood. Abandoned by her mother at two-weeks old, she was adopted and raised by her grandmother, who lived in a housing project.

Growing up in this environment exposed Pearson to the drug scene at a young age. At the age of fourteen, Pearson was convicted of second-degree murder and was sentenced to eight years in prison. While in prison, she was introduced to acting by a fellow inmate and upon her release, she held multiple jobs while working to get her GED. After moving to Los Angeles, she was cast in her first role as ‘Snoop’ in the hit HBO series The Wire.

Since then, Pearson has gone on to appear in a variety of films and television shows, such as Notorious, The Longshots, Let's Stay Together, and Law & Order. She has also released a book of memoirs, Grace After Midnight, and co-produced an album of rap songs with fellow Wire alum Gbenga Akinnagbe.

In addition to her acting career, Pearson is also an advocate for criminal justice reform. She has spoken out on behalf of those who are incarcerated, as well as those who are trying to rebuild their lives after coming out of prison. In 2017, she was part of a panel at the White House to discuss criminal justice reform.

Pearson continues to stay active in the entertainment industry and is currently working on a new film project. She also works as a motivational speaker, sharing her story and encouraging young people to stay in school and make positive choices. She also plans to continue to work towards criminal justice reform and will continue to use her platform to advocate for those who have been affected by the system.

In her career, Felicia Pearson has gone from a troubled youth to a successful actress and author. She serves as an inspiration to those who have been affected by the criminal justice system and is a reminder that it is possible to overcome any obstacle.
