Eshel Ben-Jacob is an Israeli actor, director, and playwright, best known for his work in the theater and film. Born in Jerusalem in 1961, he began his acting career at a young age, performing in local theater productions and later studying at the Beit Zvi acting school. Ben-Jacob made his film debut in the 1983 drama, The Little Drummer Girl, and has since appeared in numerous Israeli films. He has also acted in several international films, including the 2003 drama, The Human Resources Manager, and the 2015 comedy, The People vs. Fritz Bauer.

In addition to his acting career, Ben-Jacob has written and directed several plays, including “Map of the Soul” and “The Magic of Light”. He has also directed numerous short films, including “The Best of Times” and “The End of the World”.

Ben-Jacob has won numerous awards for his work, including the Israeli Film and Television Academy’s award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2002 for his performance in the drama “The Human Resources Manager”. He was also named Best Actor at the 2003 Ophir Awards, Israel’s version of the Academy Awards. In addition, he has won two awards from the Israeli Theatre Critics Association, including a Best Actor award for his performance in the play “Map of the Soul”.
