Eric Murphy is an American film and television director. He has directed a number of films and television episodes, including the comedy films Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Get Him to the Greek. He is also known for his work on the television series Entourage and Animals.

Murphy began his career as an assistant director on the film The Cable Guy, directed by Ben Stiller. From there, he went on to direct a number of short films, including The Spleenectomy, The Sub, and The Shooting. In 2007, he directed his first feature film, Superbad. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $170 million worldwide.

Following Superbad, Murphy went on to direct the romantic comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall in 2008. The film was another success, grossing over $100 million worldwide. He then directed Get Him to the Greek in 2010, which was a box office success, grossing over $88 million worldwide.

In 2010, Murphy began directing episodes of the hit HBO television series Entourage. He directed a total of 16 episodes over the course of the series' eight seasons. He also directed a number of episodes of the HBO series Animals, which premiered in 2016.
