Dr. Susan Deacy is an actress and professor from the UK. She is best known for her roles in the television series Skins, and for her extensive work in theatre.

Deacy was born in South London and raised in the suburbs of London. She attended a local grammar school before studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She graduated in 1992 with a BA in Acting.

Deacy began her acting career in the early 1990s, appearing in a variety of television shows and films including Absolutely Fabulous, EastEnders, and Hollyoaks. She also appeared in a number of theatre productions, including productions at the National Theatre and the Old Vic.

In 2006, Deacy was cast as the lead role in the teen drama Skins. The show was an instant hit, with Deacy gaining international recognition for her performance. She went on to appear in two additional seasons of the show, and the spin-off film Skins: Rise of the Skins.

In addition to acting, Deacy has also pursued a career as an academic. She has taught at the University of Oxford and the University of York, and is currently a professor of theatre studies at the University of Surrey. She has written several books and articles on theatre, and has given lectures on the subject at conferences around the world.

Deacy is an advocate for the rights of actors, and has served as a patron and spokesperson for the Actor’s Aid charity. She also works as a mentor to young actors, and is an ambassador for the UK Council of Arts.
