Dr David Rothery is a British actor, best known for his roles in TV series and films such as Torchwood, Doctor Who, and The Bill.

Born in Portsmouth, Hampshire in 1971, Rothery grew up in a family of actors. His father, a military policeman, taught him how to act and encouraged him to pursue his dream of being an actor.

Rothery studied at the University of Portsmouth, and then at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he graduated in 1995 with a degree in acting.

He then went on to appear in a number of stage productions, including Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. Rothery also appeared in a number of British television series, including EastEnders, The Bill, and Casualty.

In 2006, he began appearing as the recurring character of Owen Harper in the sci-fi series Torchwood. His performance earned him critical acclaim and a cult following.

He also made a few appearances in Doctor Who, playing a minor character in one episode and a recurring character in another.

In addition to his acting career, Rothery has also been involved in a number of charities, including MIND, the British Red Cross, and the British Heart Foundation.

Rothery currently lives in London with his wife and two children. He continues to appear in television and film, and has also recently completed a novel.
