Doug Spangenberg is an American director and producer who has worked in television and film for over two decades. He is best known for his work on the television series “The Office,” “Modern Family” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as well as the films “Mean Girls” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.”

Spangenberg was born in Westchester, New York, and grew up in the suburbs of New York City. He attended Ithaca College where he majored in film and television production. After graduating, he began working as an assistant director on various television shows such as “Law & Order” and “The Sopranos.” He eventually worked his way up to directing episodes of those shows as well as “Oz” and “The West Wing.”

Spangenberg's big break came in 2005 when he was hired to direct the cult classic film “Mean Girls,” starring Lindsay Lohan. The film was a major success and established Spangenberg as a sought-after director. He followed up that success with the critically acclaimed “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” in 2005, which he co-wrote and directed.

Spangenberg has since gone on to direct episodes of hit television shows such as “30 Rock,” “Community,” “Parks and Recreation,” “New Girl” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” He has also directed several episodes of “The Office,” “Modern Family” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” He has won several awards for his directing including an Emmy for “The Office” and a Writers Guild of America award for “Modern Family.”

Spangenberg has also directed several films, including “The Hangover Part III” and “We’re the Millers.” He is currently in pre-production on the upcoming film “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.”
